To the wondering eyes, captivation ensues. To the hoping heart, passion defies gravity. To the thoughtful mind, creativity ensnares, and an idea of a meaningful image is created.... A lost and wave-battered ship is on the open sea of broken promises. Looking for a refuge from the insanely intense storm made up of lies and deceit, only to crash upon the jagged rocks of heartache. The passenger of this now doomed vessel, finds himself on the dark sands of some beach, that is abandoned and alone. The weather is harsh, stinging rain of rememberance, blazing temperatures of emotions, and slicing winds of regret.
He walks until he finds a shady spot away from all the wind, rain, and where the temperature is a little cooler. He lies down to rest his head, but eventhough he sleeps, his mind does not. Dreams and thoughts intwine and wring together in some twisted knot that tightens and tightens. The flickers of the movie playing in his sleep are so vivid... her face... her hair... her body... her eyes..., that he wakes within minutes. It is now dark, and the rain, wind, and temperatures have gone and cooled, but in the sky were promises that they would soon return.
He then finds twigs and dried ferns, flint, and straw and starts a fire, on the dark, moonlit beach. For a second he feels at home and comfortable, then he realises that he is far from home, and nowhere near comfortable. He has lost his ship, his way, and his love. Has he lost himself in the process? Has he become as empty as the shells that have washed upon the shore? Has he become hollow?
